About image file compression The file sizes of your images can affect the time it takes to upload a Web gallery to a host server as well as viewer download. There are tradeoffs when determining image quality vs. file upload/download times.
What compression file size is best?
The program default (60) is ideal for all-purpose galleries. For artists and professional photographers, we recommend a compression of 80 as long as larger file sizes aren't an issue. For quick draft galleries, or when download speeds are an issue, you can use compression values below 60.
